Dotei Records最新作は、千葉を拠点 とする DJ/トラックメーカー Takesu のセカンド EP である。前作から約 4 年が経ち、その 間に父になるという人生の節目を迎えながらも、本作のタイトルとなった地元の内房エリ アで開催しているパーティー Who's Next や、同じく主催のイベント Homework を中心に DJ として活動。同時にまだ息子のおもちゃによる侵食を辛うじて免れている自室で日々トラ ック制作を続けていた。レーベルとしても 10 作目という節目となるリリースで、あの頃は お互い初めてで手探りだったレコード制作のプロセスが、既に手慣れたものになっている ことに時の流れを感じた。それはまるで、高校の頃付き合っていた彼女と、20 代後半にな ってよりを戻したような、時間という溶媒に、空虚と成熟を放り込み、ブイヤベースを作 るような体験であった。どこか懐かしくもあり、しかし確実に新しい味がした。まだ同じ ことで盛り上がれる俺たちと、もう同じことでは満足できない俺たちがそこにはいた。三 友の鳥は、千葉の空を高く飛びあがったかと思うと、やがてまた雲の中へ消えていったの だった。この道は、ドコへ。
Who’s Next EP is the second EP by Takesu, a DJ and track maker based in Chiba, who debuted on DTR-003, Tales Of King Spider EP. Nearly four years have passed since his previous release. In that time, he reached an important milestone in life—becoming a father. While navigating this new chapter, he continued to stay active as a DJ. At the same time, he kept working on tracks in his own room—still just barely safe from being taken over by his son’s toys. This release also marks the label’s 10th title, a milestone that made us reflect on the passage of time. Back then, making records was something completely new for both of us, and we went through the process by trial and error. Now it has become something we’re much more familiar with. In a way, it felt like getting back together in your late twenties with the girlfriend you dated in high school—somehow nostalgic, yet unmistakably a new experience at the same time. The versions of us who can still get excited about the same things, and the versions of us who can no longer be satisfied by them alone, were both there. Compared to DTR-003, these four tracks are clearly upgraded. Each one is a party-oriented cut, designed to drive you NUTS the dance floor in different places, times, and situations.
